Normakti’s Wedding Happy Hour

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

We are so excited for this weekend! If you are coming from out of town, please give us your arrival details so that Norm & Shakti’s DC guide is waiting for you at the right place. Then. . . .
Join us for Normakti’s Wedding Happy Hour this Friday night at 9 pm at Hudson, 2030 M Street, NW (between 20th and 21st). We have reserved all the tables in the beautiful Hudson lounge area for this event, and Hudson owner and dear friend Alan Popovsky has created a very special drinks menu just for us.

Can’t wait to see you all!

DC Brunch

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Kristen Foodim is producing a wonderful guide to DC for everyone; we’ll post it here as soon as it’s ready. In the meantime I wanted to share this link to this very popular DC food and wine blog called TheListAreYouOnIt.com. Here is today’s article about notable local brunches. I read it and agree with her on the places that I’ve tried. Check it out: http://www.thelistareyouonit.com/brunch-anyone. Liberty Tavern’s brunch is my FAVORITE in town right now but you’ll have to hop on the Orange Line at Metro Center to get to it from your hotel on Sunday. (If you do, obviously sit upstairs and order the Breakfast Table, and a bloody mary that comes with a Brooklyn Lager back. Delicious, laid-back and cool.)

You want to wear a sari?

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Five girlfriends have asked to wear saris to our wedding. If you want to, too:

1/ Tell me, so that my mom can pick one out for you.

2/ Get a tight-fitting red, orange and/or yellow camisole or tank top in case my mom’s custom-made blouses don’t fit.

3/ Come to the theatre at 4:30 pm Saturday. Mom and the aunties will dress you.
